“Hey, you birds! Fly so high! Fly to the blue sky!.. May is just a month of all greens, all of us grow like plants so green….” This is part of the lyrics of the Children’s Day song.
May is full of eventful holidays and occasions here in Korea. May 5 is Children’s Day. Parents’ Day falls on May 8 (there is no distinction between father’s and mother’s days here), and Teacher’s Day on May 15. May is called a month for families.
May is also a significant month for believers. May 19 is Buddha’s Birthday as an official holiday. Christians will observe the Ascension Day of Jesus Christ on May 13. May 12-13 is Eid al-Fitr or the Festival of Breaking the Fast celebrated by Muslims.
May all the Love and Blessings come your way!
